Accessible Tourism
RODNEY

Accessible tourism is defined as all-inclusive tourism and travel, where people with or without disabilities have equal access and enjoyment of tourist activities and travel in general. It is the practice of making travel experiences enjoyable and inclusive for everyone, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities.

He Kōrero mō Rodney / About Rodney

Rodney is Auckland's northernmost local board and includes Kawau Island and Kumeu/Huapai, Helensville, Warkworth, Matakana and Wellsford. Dairying, horticulture, winemaking, tourism and forestry are key parts of the rural economy. As a result of proximity to Auckland, lifestyle blocks, retirement housing and holiday homes are also very popular.

Apart from a wide range of eateries and entertainment venues, there are many beautiful beaches, regional parks, native forests and walking tracks. At the southern end of the board area is the Kaipara Harbour, the largest enclosed harbour in the southern hemisphere.
